A SHOOTING RPG WITH A UNIQUE STAGE STRUCTURE

Dream Star Monster Arcade is a shooting RPG with a distinctive stage design. Set on islands where the player's and enemy's territories are separated, fend off enemies that attack by shooting or flying through the air! Progress through numerous stages by utilizing the effects of various items, the built-in stage features, and the permanent training menu, such as changing and enhancing equipment.

SHOOTING BATTLE WITH FEROCIOUS MONSTERS

Enemy monsters occupy the opposite island and attack with projectiles or engage in aerial melee assaults. Players control their character to evade these attacks, then pause to launch counterattacks with their own shots. In addition to shooting, use in-stage builds to boost attack power and collect items dropped by enemies to hinder them and defeat the monsters on the island.

FEATURES A STAGE CONFIGURATION SET ON AN ISLAND

Fantasy island visuals. A permanent training menu is available. The game flow is akin to Archer's, but the stage is split in the middle of the screen. It's challenging not being able to approach the enemy directly, but you can drop items like tornadoes and bombs from the enemy's side, using item mechanics to disrupt and attack them. However, the limited three build elements in the stage and lack of shot style variation can be concerning.

STRENGTHEN YOUR CHARACTER BY UPGRADING YOUR STATUS WITH EQUIPMENT AND FUNDS

Characters earn experience points during stages, leveling up to increase attack power, defense power, and acquired funds. This build resets every time, but as you progress, you can acquire weapons like knives and axes to replace or upgrade. There is also a training menu that uses funds to randomly enhance status, and since these upgrades are permanent, it's beneficial to steadily train your character and prepare for upcoming stages.

TIPS FOR EARLY STAGE STRATEGY

A strengthening menu is locked at the start of the game, so complete stages to unlock it. Additionally, clearing a WAVE in a stage allows temporary enhancement of the character's attack power, defense power, or acquired funds. Until the enhancement menu is accessible, it's advisable to focus on upgrading either offense or defense.
